Hello, my name is Eliza and I have been working with children since 1992. I am married and have 2 grown children. My son is newly married and my daughter is a college student. I started my own Daycare in 2007.
I began my career in child care as a volunteer in my mothers Bilingual Kinder/1st grade classroom at La Escuelita Elementary in 1994. I learned from my mom how to incorporate and how to reinforce Spanish with the children through work and play. I was later asked by the staff at Centro Infantil (CDC) to sub as an aide.
I then applied at OUSD and started working that summer. At Centro Infantil I learned how to manage large groups of children from the ages of 2-4. This is when I fell in love with this age group.
Lastly I worked as an aide to handicapped children in a Visually Impaired Pre-School for 7 years. I prepared meals, guided children on walks, potty trained,helped to main stream children into Kinder and many other duties that helped me to feel very secure in opening up my own daycare.
